2024 Hillel Student Board

The Hillel Student Board’s mission is to create opportunities for Brandeis undergraduate students to engage in all aspects of Jewish life, learning, and Israel.

Riley Genevieve Miner ‘25 , President, (she/her)

Riley, originally from El Paso, Texas, studies Health, Anthropology, and Near Eastern and Judaic Studies at Brandeis University. Drawn to the campus after attending Genesis, a pre-college Jewish leadership program, she recently served as the 2023 Hillel Vice President. Riley is passionate about fostering Jewish communities and organizing campus-wide events like Purim celebrations, alongside her involvement in residence hall advising, community partnerships, and teaching religious school. Jared Silverman ‘25, Vice President, (he/him)

Jared, hailing from Somerset, MA, pursues Applied Mathematics with minors in Computer Science, Economics, and Near Eastern and Judaic Studies at Brandeis University. Passionate about fostering a vibrant Jewish community, Jared served as the 2023 Hillel Finance Coordinator and is dedicated to furthering Jewish engagement on campus. When not immersed in academics, he enjoys playing clarinet, particularly with the Brandeis Klezmer Band. James Brosgol ‘25, Finance Coordinator, (he/him)

James, hailing from Bedford, Massachusetts, is the oldest of 5 siblings. He's pursuing a double major in Chemistry and Politics, with a minor in International and Global Studies. James advocates for enriching Jewish experiences on campus, drawing from his own college journey, and has been actively involved in Hillel and student government leadership. When not engaged in academic or leadership pursuits, you'll find James in the Hillel Lounge, watching soccer, or competing at ping pong or foosball. Eden Gershman ‘27, Communications Coordinator, (she/her)

Eden, from Silver Spring, Maryland, explores interests in Environmental Science, history, or psychology at Brandeis University. Passionate about connecting with others, she served as the first-year representative for BOO (Brandeis Orthodox Organization) in Fall 2023 and now facilitates communication between students and the Hillel Student Board. In her leisure time, she enjoys fantasy novels, embroidering, observing snails and slugs, crafting WhatsApp stickers, and people-watching. Mateo Levin ‘27, Education Coordinator, (he/him)

Mateo, from New York City, explores his major at Brandeis University while passionately serving the Hillel community and promoting Torah education. With a background in Israel's Nativ college leadership program and experience at the Conservative Yeshiva in Jerusalem, Mateo is deeply involved in Brandeis' Jewish life, organizing various minyanim and serving on the Board of Brandeis J-Street. In his spare time, he can be found learning in the Brandeis Beit Midrash, socializing in Sherman dining hall, exploring new places, or attending the Berlin Chapel. Zac Gondelman ‘26, Community Coordinator (he/him)

Zac, as the Community Engagement Coordinator, strives to foster community and positive change through storytelling and music. With a Near Eastern and Judaic studies major, he coordinates activities for the Brandeis Reform Chavurah (BaRuCh) T’fillah, aiming to create inclusive spaces for Jewish people to connect and have fun. Whether organizing workshops, campfires, lectures, or song sessions, Zac enjoys being part of tight-knit communities while also staying connected to the music scene, baking French desserts, playing with his dog, and making music. Ben Breslow ‘25, Tikkun Olam Coordinator, (he/him)

Ben, hailing from Northampton, Massachusetts, majors in Environmental Studies and is passionate about fostering meaningful Jewish spaces at Brandeis. He finds spiritual energy and community at Brandeis Hillel, also serving as the Education Coordinator for Brandeis Masorti. Whether attending campus Jewish events, exploring near the Charles River, or indulging in board games and musicals, Ben welcomes coffee chats about programming, interests, or any Jewish topic. Shai Goldberg-Kellman ‘27, Israel Programs Coordinator, (he/him)

Shai Goldberg-Kellman, a Computer Science major with an interest in Linguistics from White Plains, New York, finds comfort and friendship in the Hillel community, fostering meaningful conversations. Dedicated to being a knowledgeable resource on Israel, Shai facilitates safe dialogues and engaging events, balancing his interests in martial arts, particularly Krav Maga, and software development in the MakerLab. Nili Fish-Bieler ‘26, Religious Engagement Coordinator, (she/they)

Nili, from Sharon, MA, a town south of Boston with a vibrant Jewish community, is still deciding on her minor but leans towards majoring in psychology. As a gabbai for Masorti Minyan and a member of Manginah, Brandeis's premier Jewish a cappella group, Nili is passionate about fostering connections among campus Jewish communities.
