Family & Alumni Weekend Shabbat
September 27-29, 2024

Each year Hillel at Brandeis hosts a festive Shabbat of meals, services, singing and learning for Family Weekend. The presence of alumni, friends, and other honored guests will enhance our Shabbat with families and students. We hope you’ll join us!

Registration is available exclusively online. The final deadline to register for the weekend is September 15. We strongly encourage advance registration. We anticipate running out of space quickly.

Hillel’s Shabbat dinner will be from Tova’s Catering, a gourmet kosher caterer in the Boston area. Shabbat dinner will be $65/person (no charge for children under 13).

Shabbat Lunch and Seudah Shlishit (third meal) will be available through Brandeis Hospitality. Hillel will offer a Shabbat-friendly space for these meals where we can gather as a community.

Thanks to the generosity of Hillel’s board of directors, current undergraduate students will not be charged for Shabbat dinner. Students will need to register themselves for Shabbat meals here (unlike a regular Shabbat during the academic year).

To ensure all families of current Brandeis students can attend the weekend, registration fee waivers are available from the university for those with financial need. For information on waivers, please reach out to the Dean of Students Office prior to registering for the weekend.

If you can’t make it to Family Weekend, we hope you’ll spend Shabbat with us at another point during the year.

Check back for a full schedule of services, meals, and activities soon!

Accommodations

There are a number of options for accommodations close to Brandeis. Most families stay at the Marriott Hotel about two miles away.

We’ve partnered with the university to arrange walking groups back to the Marriott on Friday night.

At this time, there is no option for on-campus accommodation.

More information about Brandeis Family Weekend can be found here. All other questions about the weekend should be addressed to families@brandeis.edu.
