Sophie Dauerman

(SHE/HER)
RABBINIC FELLOW

Sophie is a rabbinical student at the Jewish Theological Seminary. She is excited to join Brandeis Hillel as a Slifka-Nadich Fellow, where she looks forward to sharing Torah and building relationships with students.

Sophie grew up in northern Vermont and earned a Bachelor's degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Yale University. As a student there, she served as gabbai of Yale's Egalitarian Minyan and as Co-President of the Hillel Student Board. Most recently, she spent a year in Israel as a Dorot Fellow, where she had the joy of learning Talmud and painting for bereaved families.

In her free time, Sophie enjoys playing tennis and the oboe, spending time outdoors with friends, and reading.
