Shira Chadasha
Founded in 2006, Shira Chadasha is a community and one of the first partnership minyanim on a college campus, maximizing female involvement under halachic parameters. This means that while we have a mechitza (partition), women can lead services such as Kabbalat Shabbat and Hallel and read from the Torah. We meet for a Shabbat service every other week, with attendees from multiple religious denominations coming together for a nice and meaningful experience. In addition to services, we hold a fun event at least once a semester, with past events including Candle Making, Master Chef: Cupcake Edition, and a Dreidel Tournament.
I'm so glad I found Shira Chadasha at Brandeis during my freshman year. As a partnership minyan, it has one of my favorite types of prayer spaces and I have met some great people through it! I hope the Shira Chadasha community continues to grow in the coming years to provide even more students with a place where they truly feel at home. - Aviva Weinstein '23
