Contact Noah to talk about building community and giving back at Brandeis Hillel (and beyond!).
Noah Hochfelder
(he/they)
SPRINGBOARD FELLOW
Noah Hochfelder grew up alongside the lakes and hills of the Taconic Range in western Massachusetts. He received his BA in English/Creative Writing from Middlebury College in 2023. As an undergrad, he dove into various community-building and storytelling projects, serving as a DJ/show host and music director for Middlebury’s radio station, playing (mediocre) bass in a punk band, and holding multiple leadership positions within Middlebury Hillel, including the organization’s first-ever Israel Dialogue and Education Chair. In this role, Noah organized several safe, courageous, and intentional spaces for Jewish students to explore how to be in compassionate dialogue about confusing/complex features of their Jewish journeys. This role inspired his current curiosity: learning how to create more empathetic and openhearted Judaisms through new approaches to processing conflict/pain within Jewish spaces.
Post-graduation, he has explored this work in partnership with the National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI), assisting in their annual Antisemitism Campus Institute, and returning to Middlebury as an alum to lead a conflict transformation workshop for current Jewish students.
Noah loves to make space for life’s little tender moments, namely exploring new hiking trails, following his beloved Boston Celtics, and perfecting the craft of dipping pastries into coffee. His favorite smell is freshly-baked dark chocolate Ghirardelli brownies, and he believes that they should always be eaten with Ben and Jerry’s Coffee BuzzBuzzBuzz. He is thrilled to collaborate with and learn from Brandeis students!
