Fall Fest – Brandeis Family Weekend

Fall Fest for 2014 will take place from October 23-27, 2013.

Hillel will provide a full complement of Shabbat activities including services, Shabbat dinner, and an Oneg Shabbat program.

5:10 PM: Candle Lighting (Levin Ballroom, Usdan Student Center)

5:30 PM: Shabbat Services
Orthodox (Sherman Function Hall, Hassenfeld Conference Center)

7:00 PM: Hillel’s Shabbat Dinner and Oneg Shabbat
Dinner in Levin Ballroom, Usdan Student Center; Oneg Shabbat in International Lounge, Usdan Student Center

Dinner tickets are required for all family members, including children over 12, and can be purchased through Brandeis Tickets for $36.  Current Brandeis students can reserve and pay for their meal using their meal plan.  For children 12 and under, please call Brandeis Tickets at 781-736-3400.

Hillel’s Oneg Shabbat Program (beginning at approx 8:45) is free and open to all members of the Brandeis Family!

Join Rabbi David Pardo, Co-Director, Seif Jewish Learning Initiative on Campus, for a shiur.

There are two hotels in walking distance of the campus:  The Boston Marriott Newton and the Crescent Suites in Waltham.  Both are approximately a 2 mile walk.  On Friday night of Fall Fest, we arrange for student escorts to walk together to the Marriott.

The limited number of rooms in the Faculty Lodge on the Brandeis campus will be assigned by a lottery conducted during the spring 2013 semester.  Brandeis students should pay attention to Hillel’s spring semester announcements for the appropriate submission deadlines for Fall Fest 2013.

Reservations for Fall Fest Shabbat Meals

Hillel’s Friday Night Shabbat Dinner
Reservations for Family Members are available online via Brandeis Tickets or on campus at the Shapiro Campus Center Box Office.
Students may not use guest meals or points/who cash to pay for guests for Fall Fest Friday Shabbat Dinner.
Reservations for Brandeis Students are only accepted at the Cashier in Sherman Dining Hall.  Students sign up at Sherman as you would for any other Hillel Friday Night Shabbat Dinner, by Thursday, October 24 at 2:00pm.

Saturday Shabbat Meals Lunch & Seudah Shlisheet (the third meal of Shabbat)
ALL Saturday meal reservations – for Family Members and Brandeis Students – including meal plan deduction or other payment, must be made at the Cashier in the Sherman Dining Hall, no later than 2:00pm on Thursday, October 24.  Students may use meal plan/Who Cash/Guest Meals/Dining Dollars to pay for guests’ meals on Saturday.

Kosher Lunch on Saturday, Shabbat Day, is served during the regular operating hours of the Sherman Dining Hall.  Grape Juice and Challot will be available for the appropriate blessings.
