Prospective students and their families are encouraged to visit campus throughout the year. University campus tours are available most weekdays when classes are in session. More information is provided on the Brandeis website.
Kosher meals are available at the Sherman Dining Hall, on the ground floor of the Hassenfeld Conference Center. Meals can be purchased at the cash register for any meal, and the Dining Hall serves Kosher food (with vegetarian options) at every meal. More information about Sherman Dining Hall hours can be found here. For those who are Sabbath observant, reservations for Shabbat meals can be made by contacting Matthew Thompson, Aramark’s Director of Operations. The Sherman Dining Hall closes during semester break and during Passover (Spring) break.
We encourage prospective students to contact us when they are planning on visiting campus so that we can arrange for them to meet with students and/or Hillel staff. Please contact us to make these arrangements. Prospective students wishing to stay for a Shabbat should contact Hillel at least two weeks of your planned visit and we will do our best to find a student host for your Shabbat visit.
Hillel staff and administrative offices are located in the Usdan Student Center, next to the Chaplaincy offices. Hillel’s Student Lounge, the planning center for Hillel’s activities on campus and a gathering place for Hillel’s formal student meetings and informal gatherings, is located on the top floor of the Usdan Student Center, upstairs from the Levin Ballroom.
Hillel’s diverse array of programs takes place in various locations across the Brandeis campus.
Hillel’s religious services take place in Brandeis’ Mendel and Leah Berlin Chapel and in other locations on campus.
The Beit Midrash (a space devoted to Jewish study) is located on the lower level of the Shapiro Residence Hall.
